Historical Hi-Line Adventure
In July of 1923, heavyweight champion of the world, Jack Dempsey, traveled to Shelby, Montana, by train, to defend his title.
The historical event placed Shelby, Montana, on the 1923 sporting event map. Fans traveled from across the country, yet the stadium built was far beyond the attendance. Many of the town homes and business built in the 1920's are still standing, and many claim to be built with the lumber reclaimed after the event. The following YouTube video tells a story of Montana's historic past.
